I’ve spent years photographing political events on Capitol Hill, from meetings and candid conversations to group portraits, press events, and speakers at the podium. My familiarity with the House and Senate buildings—and the decorum that comes with working in them—allows me to move efficiently and unobtrusively, often becoming a “fly on the wall” while important conversations unfold.
I know when to step in, when to disappear, and how to create polished, vivid photographs without becoming part of the moment.
Capitol Hill assignments often come with limited time, changing schedules, restricted access, and very little room for disruption. I’m comfortable working within those constraints while still paying attention to the expressions, interactions, and details that make the photographs useful afterward.
My approach is straightforward: arrive prepared, adapt quickly, and create polished photographs without making the photography itself a distraction.
