The best event photographs do more than prove people were there. They capture the personality of the room: the conversations, reactions, details, energy, and moments that made this event different from the one before it. Whether I’m photographing a conference, company gathering, gala, launch, or celebration, I want the finished gallery to feel distinctly like the event you created.

I bring more than a decade of experience photographing high-stakes events for organizations like NASA, the World Bank, and National Geographic to my work in Austin. The work is polished and intentional, but never sterile. Your event has a personality; the photographs should have one too.

Your Brand Belongs in the Frame

An event is one of the few times your people, your audience, and your brand all exist in the same place. I look for ways to incorporate signage, activations, and branded details naturally into the photographs so the finished gallery doesn't just show that an event happened—it shows whose event it was.

The Moments You Didn't Plan For

Some of the best photographs happen off the schedule. I’m constantly watching for genuine expressions and interactions that show what it actually felt like to be in the room. I don’t want to simply document who attended; I want to create photographs that make the event look as engaging as it felt.

Command the Room

A speaker’s photographs should convey more than who was standing at a microphone. I watch for natural expressions and hand gestures while paying close attention to flattering angles and lighting. The result is imagery that makes speakers look confident, engaged, and worth listening to.

A Studio Wherever You Need It

Events can also be an ideal opportunity to update professional headshots. I can bring a complete lighting and backdrop setup directly to the venue and efficiently photograph individuals or large groups without sending everyone to a separate studio. For high-volume events, I can photograph each person in as little as 60–90 seconds while maintaining consistent lighting, framing, and a polished final result. A Higher Standard of Coverage

I read the room. I watch speakers for their rhythm, crowds for reactions, and people making connections with one another. I’m constantly looking ahead for what is likely to happen next and putting myself in place before the moment happens, rather than reacting after it has already begun. That is what separates a photo that looks like it was taken at your event from one that actually feels like your event.

I bring a professional lighting setup to every shoot and use whatever tools the space calls for to create beautiful, deliberate lighting. Whether I’m working in a gorgeous ballroom or a windowless hotel conference room, your photographs will look polished, vibrant, and intentional. The venue doesn’t set the ceiling on quality; the photographer does.

Not just the keynote speaker. Not just the executive team. I know how to photograph people of all skin tones, ages, and backgrounds. I’m thoughtful about the images I deliver: I know I wouldn’t want an unflattering image of myself shared, so I extend that same consideration to everyone I photograph.

If I stay in one spot, you only get one perspective. I’m constantly moving: wide to show scale, close to capture expressions, and even up into the rafters when I need to show a speaker commanding a full room. But knowing where to be also means knowing when to step back. I’ve learned how to disappear into the background so I can tell the complete story of the event without making myself a part of it.

When you hire me, I’m the photographer who shows up. I don’t run my business by booking events and assigning them to whoever is available. I’ve built a photography brand centered on my work and the experience of having me there. If I’m not available for your date, I’ll tell you rather than quietly substituting another photographer and hoping you don’t notice.

My work has taken me everywhere from congressional offices and hotel ballrooms to NASA facilities, concert venues, weddings, and rocket launches. That range has taught me how to walk into almost any environment and make something beautiful from it.

I’ve developed the ability to create flattering light in challenging spaces, the intuition to anticipate moments before they happen, and the flexibility to make the most of whatever environment I’m given. I care about the details, but I don’t take myself too seriously, and I want working with me to feel as easy as the finished photographs look.

I show up to every event like it’s the most important thing I’ll photograph all year—because for my clients, it usually is.

Frequently Asked Questions

How are your photos delivered?

Through a private, beautifully presented online gallery. You can download everything directly, create favorites lists, and easily share the gallery with your team, guests, and sponsors. If you’d like to see a sample gallery before booking, just ask—I’m happy to share one!

How soon will we receive the photos?

My standard turnaround time is 7 business days from the end of your event, but I frequently deliver much sooner—including same-day selects and expedited full galleries for many of my clients. If you have a specific deadline, I’m happy to work with it. I’d much rather underpromise and overdeliver than leave you waiting for your photographs.

Do you travel for events?

Absolutely. I regularly travel throughout the United States for assignments. If your organization has events in multiple cities, I can provide the same photography and delivery experience wherever you need me.

What kinds of events do you photograph?

I photograph conferences, corporate events, galas, fundraisers, trade shows, product launches, award ceremonies, receptions, and everything in between. If people are gathering for something worth documenting, I can probably photograph it.

How does pricing work?

I price each event based on the time, complexity, and specific requirements involved. When you reach out, share as much as you can about your event, including the date, location, duration, number of attendees, and what you’re hoping to capture. If you have a budget in mind, I encourage you to share that as well. I approach budgets honestly; knowing yours helps me find a structure that works for both of us rather than simply determining how much to charge.
