This City Has Character. Your Portrait Should Too.

Natural. Intentional. Vivid.

A Portrait Should Feel Personal.

A good portrait shouldn't feel interchangeable with one I could have made of anybody else. I start by considering who I'm photographing, what the image needs to communicate, and where it will ultimately be used.

Sometimes that means a clean, carefully directed portrait. Other times it means working more loosely with the environment, movement, expression, or available light. The approach changes from person to person, but the goal stays the same: make something polished that still feels unmistakably like the person in front of the camera.

Comfort Comes First.

Most people aren't accustomed to being photographed, and I don't expect you to arrive knowing what to do. I give direction when you need it, make adjustments as we go, and create enough space for you to settle into the session. I also pay attention to posture, expression, hands, movement, and the small details that can change a photograph, while avoiding poses that feel unnatural or overly constructed.

The best photographs happen when you're truly comfortable.

Intentional Lighting.

I don't wait for perfect light to appear or spend too much time looking for it. Whether we're working outside, in your home, at a workplace, or somewhere chosen specifically for the photographs, I use the environment and bring additional lighting to create something deliberate rather than surrendering to whatever light happens to be there.

Retouched. Not Rebuilt.

I want the finished photographs to be flattering and polished, but still recognizable as the person who stood in front of my camera. Every finished portrait is professionally edited, but my goal isn't to turn you into someone else. I make careful adjustments to color, tone, skin, and distracting temporary imperfections while preserving the features that make you look like you.

Hi, I’m Taylor

I’ve spent more than a decade photographing people in environments ranging from controlled portrait sessions to assignments where I have only a few minutes to understand someone and make a strong photograph.

That experience has made me comfortable giving direction without over-directing. I pay close attention to light, expression, posture, and the small adjustments that can completely change a portrait, while keeping the process relaxed enough that the person in front of the camera doesn't disappear beneath the technique.

The best portrait should look considered without looking overworked.

Many subjects. One perspective.

Different subjects call for different approaches, but the style, intentionality, and care behind them remain the same.
